Photovoltaic systems are divided into two main categories.
• Grid connected systems
• Stand-alone systems
The first, are designed to sell electricity. The variations are found in the place of installation (building or land) and the nominal power system, with separate categories depending on the economical program, the 10 KWp for household appliances or install at a very small company, 100 KWp for professional farmers and investors and from 100 KWp and more for investors only.
Stand-alone systems are built to deliver energy for various purposes at a specific site. Generated energy is stored in batteries for use on days with cloud or at the evening. Typical applications are telephony, repeater stations, lighthouses and homes remote from the main grid.
